Set up printers

Set up the printers that can be used from the Anywhere apps as designed in the Mobility studio.

The printer setup in the Mobility studio consists of these elements:
  • Printer types - The different types of printers that can be used by the apps as designed in the Mobility studio. For example: packing slip printer or label printer. 
  • Printers - The links to the registered network printers for each printer type. 
  • Default printers - The default printers for each warehouse, user, and printer type combination. 

For each Anywhere app, in the related parameters, you define the printer type for each type of document that can be printed.

If you print from an Anywhere app, the document is printed on the default printer for the defined printer type and the applicable warehouse and user.

For example: packing slip printer or label printer. Procedure 1. Click Mobility management. 2. Click the Printer types tab. 3. Click Add. 4. In the Printer type field, type a value. 5. In the Description field, type a value. 6. Close the page. Set up printers Set up printers Before you can set up printers for Mobility studio, install the Document Routing Agent to enable network printer devices. You can use the registered network printers to set up the Mobility studio printers. Procedure 1. Click Mobility management. 2. Click Printers. 3. Close the page. 4. Click New. 5. In the Printer ID field, type a value. 6. In the Printer type field, enter or select a value. 7. Click Settings. 8. On the Print destination settings dialog, in the list, select the desired print medium. 9. Fill in the fields for the selected print medium. 10. Click OK. Based on this setup, it is determined which printer is used when a user prints from an app. Procedure 1. Click Mobility management. 2. Click the Default printers tab. 3. Click Add. 4. In the Warehouse field, enter or select a value. 5. In the User ID field, enter or select a value. 6. In the Printer type field, enter or select a value. 7. In the Printer name field, enter or select a value. 8. Close the page. End End
